As parents of children with disabilities and PAVE staff members we believe that:

Always supportive and reafirm family abilities.

All discussions with and regarding families and professionals will be kept in strict confidence.
We strive to be nonjudgmental, regardless of differing values and beliefs.
We are always supportive
Our role is to reaffirm family abilities.
PAVE services are not limited by age, disability or economic status.
PAVE staff is culturally diverse and strives to be culturally sensitive.
We are consistent models for parent/professional collaboration.
We stay up to date on issues and trends.
We do not make decisions for others.
We support individuals with disabilities in self-advocacy.
Families and parents act in what they believe is in the best interest of their child.
People are people first.
Systems should be family driven and services should be family centered.
We must be leaders in systems change.
Inclusion in the family, in life activities, in school and in the community is a fundamental right for all individuals.
People with disabilities are vital members of our communities.

These guiding principles are used as a constant reminder of PAVE’s mission and why we do what we do.
